Poetry: Put Your Pedal To The Metal and Drive Said Pete
Saturday, May 25, 2019
Put your pedal to the metal and drive said Pete
Put your pedal to the metal and drive
Look at the back of your head said Pete, oh wait you can’t
only through a mirror or a photo
which means your reality is incomplete
merely a subjective experience
Put your pedal to the metal and drive said Pete
Pull your petal to your middle and thrive
Believe in imaginary conceits said Pete, subscribe to binary concepts
Be a part of a collective consciousness, that’s how we all get by
Like my faith in God and my love for my Other?
No. That shit’ll get you killed said Pete, just refer to any literature
in fact no don’t
Put your pedal to the metal and drive said Pete
Put your pen to the margin and derive
Work for an arbitrary number of days said Pete, work for an angry number of years
Arbitrary numbers will appear on your screen, then vanish like cyphers in to the code
That’s how we measure your worth said Pete
That’s the only God you need know
Picture yourself in the future said Pete
once you’ve unlocked the door to your potential
Swimming in a vast ocean somehow opened up from nowhere
drowning under heavy drifts of snow
Put your pedal to the metal and drive said Pete
Push your peril to the many outside
Do with your body what you will said Pete, just don’t call it what it is when we say what it isn’t
Stuff your head in to a photograph and stare at the back of it
Come here often?
tell your mom i said hi
Put your pedal to the metal and drive said Pete
Put a bullet in your temple and die
